These are the top 15 countries Americans should not enter according to the US State Department.
The United State Department ranks each country worldwide by its safety level for US citizens. There are four travel advisory levels. Level 1, exercise normal precautions. Level 2, exercise increased caution. Level 3, Reconsider travel, and lastly, level 4, do not travel. Countries deemed level 4, do not travel is due to riots, terrorism, and kidnappings.
Afghanistan
Due to armed conflict, crime, terrorism, and kidnapping. In 2021 the US Embassy suspended its services in Kabul, the capital, due to a “peace treaty”. Since then, US citizens have been unlawfully targeted.
South Sudan
Due to crime, kidnapping, and armed conflict.
According to the site, foreign nationals have been victims of rape, assault, armed robberies, carjackings, ambushes, and shootings.
Haiti
Travelers are followed, violently attacked, robbed, and kidnapped shortly after arriving at the international airport. Most of the kidnappings involve ransom demands and according to the US Department, victims' families paid thousands of dollars to rescue their family members.

Iran
Due to the risk of kidnapping and wrongful detentions. The US government does not have diplomatic relations with Iran so they wouldn’t be able to provide emergency services to US citizens in Iran. Meaning if you get arrested in Iran and you're an American citizen, you're out of luck buddy.
